These are a few things I want to do when I have time (and not blogging or reading blogs!) In no particular order:
- Make these cookies.
- Read The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown (I LOVE his books. Movies are great too)
- Finish the blanket I started 1 1/2 years ago for Scott.
- Clean my kitchen (again and again)
- Decorate my new floor pillows
- Play softball
- Make delish gourmet meals every time
- Keep practicing the piano
*update:
It's funny how I do this when I have so much going on. But back during last semester, I was begging for ideas! When I had "nothing" to do and so much time to do it in, I had little motivation and was out of ideas. Well, I'm glad I wrote this yesterday because I thought about this. I now have a list of things to do when I have "nothing" to do!

First week of School
Scott and I on our first day of school for the spring semester.
School started last Tuesday for us at BYU-Idaho. So far we are keeping our schedules. We had some crazy scheduling with Scott's classes- but it has worked out. I also have had some bumps in the road, but so far so good!
As a refresher: Scott is majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I am in Communications, emphasizing in Advertising. Scott does not need a minor, but I do. Instead of a minor I am doing 2 clusters. One is Health Science and the other (which has yet to be declared) Graphic Design.
Scott is registered for 16 credits, me with 17. We are taking an Old Testament class together with an AWESOME teacher. So I get to sit next to Scott 3 times a week in class. Woo!
This semester Scott is the chair for the ASME student section here at BYU-I. He was on the committee before, but not has the head honcho! It's an awesome resume builder, plus he gets to do what he wants to do! Scott is also in FA100, which is a fine arts class. He has to go to 13 approved events throughout the semester to get credit. In other words...I have 13 guaranteed dates.
I am taking my last practicum (you have to have 3 credits in place of an internship). I get to work with Scott with ASME creating posters and advertising them. It was a make your own practicum, work 32 hours total throughout the semester, and write a paper about it in the end. I'm down with getting credit for something I'd already be doing!
I have great news as well with my freelance work. You will have to wait until my next post to hear more. Until then! We're in class...

Kite Festival
We watched the news last night and they did a little plug for the kite festival that was today at noon. We loved it! It was definitely convincing that they would have free food too. :)
Scott forgot a jacket, so he was really cold. It was super windy!
We started talking to this guy. He told us he makes kites as a hobby, and pulled out this one. It's his most recent. After we left we saw that he put it up in the air. It was probably because Scott and I were googling over it.
The one that is on the far right, black and white, is the largest in Idaho. The one right above my head has streamer things that are 200 feet long!

The last hooray!
For our last hooray before school started, Scott and I went to the Ririe Reservoir. The weather has been beautiful (currently at 71*) and we had to get outside. We had no plans and a full tank of gas.
I had tweaked my back, so a nice walk along the lake was perfect. Scott went and climbed to the top of a bluff and found sunbleached antlers. I found two little snail shells while he was gone climbing.
There were really cool rocks all around. And I had to climb one even with a bad back.
After we walked around we went to this floating dock that was right by the boat launch. We laid down on it and had a quick cat nap. Scott had to pull us back in. It was hard because the wind kept pushing us further away!

Spring?
I know I haven't posted anything in the past week or so. But as a short update: Scott's last day of work at Diversified Metals is tomorrow! Yesterday at work he was presented with a bonus. Yay! The past 3 days I've been working with the school cleaning the apartments that people moved from in our complex. It was the first man labor job I've ever had...unless you count babysitting or walking dogs. This upcoming Tuesday is the first day of the spring semester. I will be posting about what we will do over the weekend and about our classes next week.
Weather update:
Tuesday it snowed 4 inches, yesterday it was completely gone. Now it's another sunny day. Is it spring yet?

Conference Weekend
Thursday night after my class, my mom-Scott-and another guy, and I drove to Utah. I drove the entire way, I was already exhausted that day, so I was pooped driving down. It started snowing in Rexburg then cleared in Idaho Falls. It got kind of hairy in Salt Lake City but cleared up again. We stayed at the Hotel Whites, aka the White's house. In the morning Scott and I went to his uncle's sealing at the Oquirrh Mountain temple. It was a beautiful day.
It was a beautiful sealing. The sealer was Scott's great uncle. The rest of the day we spent with my mom and the Whites. This picture is of Kainoa and Sam, Meleana's two boys. Such cuties! Saturday morning Scott and I took my mom to the airport and then headed to conference in Salt Lake. It was Scott's parents first time at the new conference center. Our seats were awesome!
We listened to the morning session at conference, and then Scott and I went back to Patti's for the afternoon session. Scott went to priesthood with his dad and uncle. I stayed with Patti and Karen Pierce (from my home ward in Stanwood). We had delicious chocolate cake and ice cream. Yum.
After the Saturday morning session, we met up with Scott's previous stake president from New York.
Then after the Sunday session, which we also went to, we met up with my mother-in-law's friends. They are from New York as well and was just called to be an Area 70. His daughter was also there with her boyfriend.
This is my father-in-law with my neice, Lucy. We watched the afternoon session at uncle's house. Right before we had Easter dinner, Scott and I quickly stopped by Patti's again because Kahiki and her baby were there. Ava is 4 weeks old, and just adorable as can be. I forgot my camera, but Meleana has a picture of her and me.
Here is one of the last pictures from our trip. From left to right: me, Scott, Rand, Janeal, Rachel, (Lucy on lap), and Brad. This was taken at Uncle Vernon's house after our Easter dinner.

A week with mom
My mom got into Rexburg at about 2:30AM Sunday March 28. She went to our ward on Sunday and spent time with me and the primary! Afterwords Brian and Mariah came for dinner. I made my artichoke/garlic/chicken pizza. It was delish. We watched Mariah's ultrasound movie and continued with some youtube videos. Monday mom and I hung out at my apartment. We made my lovely pretzels, and went to class. Brian came up after class and he and I went around some places around my complex getting information for his class.
Tuesday we went to Lava Hot Springs, which is way south of here. We had an interesting run-in with the Bates Hotel....she has video about that! But besides that we loved the hot springs. We then went to Costco and other stores and then headed back to Idaho Falls to pick up Scott from work. For dinner we ate at Five Guys. Yum.
Wednesday was our day in Rexburg. I had a primary activity that I was apart of, an Easter themed one. It was awesome. After the primary activity, mom and I went to the Pineapple Grill. I had Sushi and she had a burger. We then went to the Teton Dam Museum here in Rexburg and then drove to where the dam used to be! And then mom went to class again with Brian and me. That night we went to Twizel Berry. Again, yum.
Thursday my mom and I went to Idaho Falls. We went to the Woof to Wolf museum, had delicious hot chocolate, and saw the Idaho Falls. We then went to lunch with the Gneitings at a Chinese Buffet. Again, YUM. The rest of our day and weekend will be posted later, as my camera with the rest of the pictures is in the car, in Idaho Falls.
