"mom who kisses babies all day"
I could just stare at these two pictures for the rest of my life and be happy. I like to think that motherhood will always be like this- making snapshots in my mind of my babies and being happy forever. And you know what, I think I will do this. One of my most favorite parts of the day is this moment, right before the bath. She loves the bath and she can't wait to get in it.
Here's Addi playing in one of the boxes we got with some presents for Christmas. She mostly enjoyed ripping the popcorn to pieces with her massive muscles. Below is Cabo posing in his dog house. It's not completed, but he loves it so much. There is a porch missing, the roofing, and the front siding where you see just the plywood. It's a fancy house that Scott made with the occasional assistance from me.
Currently Addilyn is sitting in front of me rocking out on our keyboard. Maybe I should get her one that's meant for kids instead of letting her use ours? Either way, she loves the music it plays when she hits the right buttons.
Sorry for the horrible picture taking |

Feeling a little Nutty
This past week we've had so much and yet so little to do. Do you ever feel like that? This past week we have been working on Cabo's fancy dog house. Now that Scott has his new tools (which he still is drooling all over) he's super excited to build things. Cabo is so spoiled. :) We had our Christmas party at the church where Addilyn met Santa. She was more interested in the poinsettia petal in her hand to care though. We have started up P90X again...oy. And we are feeling the burn. I have been busily working on little projects here and there....Christmas presents, cleaning (always), logos for the Smith's business, shopping, and of course things on the house. Here are some pictures of our past week, mostly of Addilyn but what's new.
If you notice, she's not wearing a jacket in the above picture, and she's outside. It was like 65 degrees, cloudy, but still 65. Did I mention it was also the beginning of December when this was taken??? It's cooler now during the day, but really. I still can't get over it.
Another update in the life of Addilyn...she is pulling herself up! She has been practicing for a long time by holding on to our fingers as she goes to stand. But on Saturday she did it for the first time and lasted probably 2 seconds because she lost her balance. She hasn't done it again, but it's probably due to the lack of opportunity to do it. She's a smart girl and super strong. But of course I can say that because she's my daughter.
Oh, also. Last weekend Scott's work put on a Christmas party. It was a lot of fun. We got a babysitter...oh yeah. It was the first time she was babysat by someone who wasn't married or adult. But it went really great and our babysitter had no problems!
She is such a good shopper, she takes after me. |
The best play pen ever. |

She can already spell her name, and in fancy lettering too. |
Christmas story put on by the primary |
Santa and Scott....oh and Addilyn too :) |

7 Month update
Adding new foods to Addilyn's menu has been overall easy. She really has had no issues with not liking any of the food. She in fact just pauses for a moment to decide if she likes it, and then continues to eat. Well, the video below is of Addi not liking, I repeat, not liking green beans. The last minute of the video she hasn't even had a bite and she's still wincing at the thought of having another. My nephew Jaxson has a similar video of distaste but with bananas.
Last night we were skyping my brother and sister-in-law with their newest baby, Marina and their 1 year old Jaxson. Mariah helped me realize that Addilyn was 7 months old that day. I can't believe it. And I'm going to keep saying that every time she's a little bit older. That also means that we've been North Carolina residents for a little over 6 months. Geez!! Here are some cute photos of Addilyn, of course:
