Airshow, playdates, and other happenings

Okay, so I lied in my last post. I said I would have pictures that night or something promising like that. Well, here you are a little late. Enjoy!

They need one of these in every single bathroom.

She learned how to go up the slide and then spread her arms and legs out and slide back down. You're supposed to climb up the grape side but she's not ready for that. The other kids were bummed she was hogging it but she wouldn't go anywhere else!

Another playdate with Addison!

Winston-Salem Airshow

A big plane.

Ear muffs!
If you remember, last year Addilyn was just a tiny tot when we came to the airshow. Click on the link to see the difference a year makes! Airshow 2011 This year was much milder for the weather. We had a nice breeze which was heavenly with the cloud cover.
Our view from below... Kayla & Eric Smith
The other beloved Smith's joined us. Kayla blogged about the airshow here. I warned them about sunscreen. But did they listen???? nope!

Her cute tan line.

This is what happens when I garden.
Addi literally had mouthfuls of dirt. She then proceeded to put it in her hair and on her face. We did our usual clean up with the sprinkler. Here she is washing her car below.

Mowing the lawn with dad.

Helping mom cook dinner.

Her baby.
So as you know, Addilyn LOVES babies. So the other day I got out my grandmother's doll blanket and used it to wrap one of her babies and then cradled it. She followed suit. She wasn't the best wrapper, but she would wrap the baby, cradle, and then shake the baby out so she could do it again. It is just the sweetest thing ever. She will be a wonderful big sister (when the time comes:) )

Now for the wonderful videos. The first one is a little long winded. But if you think Addi is cute you'll watch the whole time. Here she is being taught how to blow bubbles in the bath tub. The last two videos are of Scott singing her favorite song from a book and then the second video is her singing it. She loves Baby Beluga!

Father's Day & Crafts

My blogs tend to be a throw up of a lot of things mixed into one. Welllll, to start with, Scott had a decent Father's Day. I surprised him with tickets to the Winston Cup museum he's been wanting to go to. We went to the Richard Childress museum a while back and it was really cool. Well, I'm glad I got the tickets 2 for 1 because I would have been ticked if we paid full price for the museum. It was honestly pretty lame. They had about 10 cars and photos on the walls. That was about it. Addilyn roamed free in there so that was fun. We did that on Saturday. Sunday he spent doing scout stuff. Camp was the next day so he had to call a few stragglers for paper work before they could go. Then we went to a court of honor. Two boys got their Eagles.

this was basically the entire museum. not much to it!

back and forth

she was a wild woman

Currently Scott's at scout camp and has been since Monday. Since he's been gone, I've been busy doing all sorts of crafts. I have already made a wooden sign to go above our kitchen cabinets that says "EAT". I redid one piece of furniture and CHOPPED my hair off. That's right, 8 whole inches and then some. I also got it high lighted. Please forgive the photo quality, bad lighting and on my phone so deal.

before
I painted it a light blue, it looks white here, but it's got faint blue to it. I also antiqued it a little bit.
after

We've been to a pool 3 times this week. Addilyn LOVES the pool. She's been so awesome. We went to our friends house to do some crafts. I did work and the girls played. They were so cute together.
PS, my birthday is this Saturday. I'll be 23 on the 23rd. Scott should be back around noon from camp. Stinky man.

April Showers of a different kind.

Addilyn plays catch with herself with all different objects. Her pacifier, a sock, a shoe, a toy...and in this case, a ball. And she was in the corner for it.
This video was a request from grandma Jadwin. She got her the dinosaur toy for Christmas and wanted to see how Addilyn plays with it. She's a kick with it.

Our pantry in progress... We started off by chopping the shelves that were in there and making more. I know I have before/after photos, but they're on Scott's phone. There were originally 3 extremely deep shelves. Now there are I think twice as many and a useful depth.
We made the rotators on the sides. There will be one more going above the peaches. We're also going to build ones that go into one of the shelves for the rest of our canned food. It's going to be so great when we're all done! Very functional!
Playing with rocks while we waited.
Last Tuesday our car died. It's transmission keeled over and we're shopping for a new one. The picture above was when we were sitting outside of the car waiting for a tow truck. Currently our car is sitting in our drive way waiting to be told it's final destiny. I will probably dedicate a blog post to our old car for it served us well.
Under our storm drain slab
You may be wondering what is going on since my last post about our water issue in the backyard. We've had the city out twice now and they'll be coming out again to start digging in my neighbor's yard to find a potentially broken pipe. There are 2 big issues that have to be addressed. 1) the broken pipe 2) the drain system itself. One of the pipes was diverted into my neighbor's yard and should have a drain for it to go to instead of ours....updates will come as they come.
Addi & Addi
Since we have no car, I had to bum a ride from Karen to Costco. The girls were so cute. Oddly even with their size difference, people still asked if they were twins. Nope. 5 months apart actually. But it was fun getting samples with them. Addison was fascinated with Addilyn's face.

We had a fire in our back yard Sunday night. This was when it was big before it died down to make marshmallows. One of our neighbors saw it, came out, said he was concerned about our fire, and then 20 minutes later we heard a fire truck. Bleh. The firemen were more impressed with our sweet set up. It's legal to burn within city limits as long as it was recreational. Um, Cabo was there and I had a stick with my mallow on it. We also had a grill next to the fire that we could have put on top.

For weeeeeks she's been making this face. It is so funny. I never watched the muppets, but I instantly knew who she looked like.

She's surprisingly a clean eater, except for the last few days. She's realized that food doesn't just have to go in her mouth. Nope! She sure loves to eat though. What a champ.
