My 25th

Ok- So I realized I let out some pictures from the Dan Nicholas park in my last post. I knew it seemed bare. So here are a few more. And it was the week before my birthday...so that counts right?

Saturday night before my birthday we had a girls night at Bowman Gray. We started out the night by going to Sonic and getting 1/2 off shakes. We sat through a storm while we ate them and then headed tot the stadium. We only watched for about 1/2 hour and then it started storming. They had to cancel the races....and we had to somehow make it to the car!
We ran over to a snack building and stood against the wall under the tiny roof ledge while it poured. There wasn't much to do but wait and it started to lighten up a little bit. We hung out in the car while we waited for everybody to make their way out of the lot and went to my house. It turned into a movie night.
My birthday was on a Monday and we saved one of Scott's precious vacation days for it so we could go to Tanglewood Park pool together. We had so much fun!  Levi actually enjoyed the water. It was overcast, but still very warm. The sun would peek out off and on. I don't have any pictures of the lazy river, but that was our families favorite part!

We wanted to stay, but Levi desperately needed a nap. So...we improvised. I got him to fall asleep, which was extremely easy since he was so tired. Then Scott took over so I could take Addilyn into the big pool.
I got my free Frogurt and Levi screamed to eat at the whole time. That morning I also got my free sub at Firehouse Sub.

Dinner was sushi. Unfortunately- not free. But delicious. It was a wonderful birthday. I enjoyed all of it!

Outings

These days are all a little mixed up. But I couldn't honestly get them right unless I was looking at a calendar for when we did what. Right below is when we went to Old Salem for a Kids Morning Out. It wasn't too exciting, but it is always good to get out!

blowing bubbles
and more bubbles

One of our playgroup outings was at the Dan Nicholas park. As soon as we got there I locked my keys in the car. Lovely. It was an ordeal getting cash for the tow truck guy who unlocked it. I had to keep going to and from the lake which had the ATM at their snack shop. And it was hot and humid and the walk was in the sun. eh. But we still had a fun day.
the train!
Scott spent a Saturday with a friend of ours sanding our decks so that we could stain them. I took the kids to SciWorks. We bought a pass that gets us into a ton of museums/zoos/science centers for free. This is one of them. It was our first time and it was awesome!!
they had some farm animals outside.

They have so much to do! Tons of different exhibits- bodies, music, physics, food, kids room....

Where to begin?

The month of June I stunk at blogging anything. So now I will begin my blog throw up of all the things we did in June! Have fun!
Addilyn played soccer with some of her friends for about 6 weeks. Our friend Sofia (below) wanted to do something small for her shy son and decided to do it for us. The first practice was pretty hit and miss. But after that, the kids really got the hang of it and got significantly better!

We had a ward BBQ which was also like a farewell to those families who are moving this summer from our church. Summer is a huge switching time for our ward because people are done with residencies etc and leave and those who are beginning move in. You pretty much can't introduce yourself to anyone until September.

Addilyn and Emma got into a water fight...

and they had a bounce house

playing in the toys at the park
There was a magic show at a library on the north side of town, right near where we first lived in our apt when we moved here. I'd never been to that library so it was a good excuse to go. It was a crazy morning, and we needed to get out of the house STAT. So I threw in the hiking bag and we went geocaching. It was along a trail that was behind the apartments that we had lived in.
I could not believe we never got these two caches. The first one was inside a tunnel and it was inside a fake spider...gross. So I didn't bother trying to get that one at the time because it was just me and the kiddos. The second one we found way up high in this tree. I couldn't wiggle it down and also thought it was too cool to not get Scott to see it. So we went to the library and then came back the area with Scott while on his lunch break.
Of course the engineer can figure out how to get it down. It was attached by a rope that you just had to get far enough away to help lower it down.

and again, after me
We've been finding some random blackberry bushes and picking as many as we can. Addilyn basically eats them all before we have a chance to get any.

ahhhh they do like each other!
I was in the kitchen and turned to see this. What a HANDSOME little guy. He pulled himself up and everything. Just playing away having a blast.
